#17 Matcha Bowl in Kohiki au Noir

The small bowl is decorated in a bold black slip. The dramatic darkness is contrasted by the rim and foot which are decorated with white slip. After bisque firing Akio applies colored slips and then glazes the pieces with translucent matte glaze. Beautiful to see and incredible to hold.
